Published in Paperback by Thomas Nelson (January, 1997)
Author: Gary E. Parker
Average review score:

dark road to daylight
If you are interested in a novel that covers just about every popular genre, this is your book. Not only is the novel a mystery, it's content touches on spirituality and strength when trying to overcome tragedies of this nature. This novel is a quick read for anyone who likes mysteries. The action is quick and suspensful. The subject is mild enough for a young adult reader. If you like the television series 7th Heaven this is your kind of book.

The Dispossessed: Cultural Genocide of the Mixed-Blood Utes: An Advocate's Chronicle
Published in Hardcover by Univ of Oklahoma Pr (Txt) (May, 1998)
Author: Parker M. Nielson
Average review score:

The Holocaust not taught in History class
This book is a Marvel! It taught me about the things that are not taught to us in History class. The Native American Holocaust (The American Holocaust) has never even been mentioned in any of my classes. The fact that Columbus really was no hero and that he really did NOT find America. The Spanish came here to get away from the disease and famine of Spain and ended up spreading disease and misery to the Native Americans when they came. They killed off millions and millions of people who in some ways were more civilized than the Spanish were when they came over. I may only be 17 but I think that not teaching and educating children that Columbus was a hero after reading this book for a term paper subject that I picked, my eyes were opened to the fact that we celebrate a man that created the Holocaust even before World War 2

Dutchman's Flat
Published in Audio Cassette by Dh Audio (January, 1998)
Authors: Louis L'Amour and Cat Parker
Average review score:

Not A Dramatized Version
Despite this not being dramatized Cat Parker does a good job of characterization, making it easy to keep the characters straight. The audio is crisp and clear and easily understood in a car environment. The stories are entertaining. Unlike the reviews above the stories printed above this is what I found (from the back cover):

Dutchman's Flat - Six angry men chase the winner of a brutal gun-fight. In the frustrating, insulting and dangerous days that follow, each learns the startling truth about the man they're goint to lynch.

His Brother's Debt - Cassidy can draw faster than a snake can strike. So why is he afraid to leave the back country? Because he has to avoid his demons - if they'll let him.

I found both stories to be great, but it would have been nice to at least add some special effects. Well worth the purchase price. One cassette. Run time: 1 hour.

Author: Barry R. Parker
Average review score:

Highly recommended
As an engineer I feel obligated to keep up to speed with things scientific, and I also have an interest in Physics. This book definitely updates modern Physics to an average reader, and has many interesting stories to supplement the material. It has just the right mix of science, history and math to keep the reader interested. I seriously recommend it to all interested in Physics.

Essential Jazz Lines : Bass Clef Edt. Style of Charlie Parker
Published in Library Binding by Mel Bay Publications (28 February, 2001)
Author: Christiansen
Average review score:

Ready for a Warm-up?
This book provides a nice overview of more 'standardized' walking jazz bass lines and speaks rather lightly to Charlie Parker's style. Some of Parker's techniques are described, but the script fails to make clear the exaples of some of his better "bait and trap" styles (drawing into a 3rd). Beginners will have fun with this- the CD has a three piece combo (bass, guitar and drums) that hold a Bb for practicing the walks, followed by another track that modulates through all the keys, making it easy to practice playing in any key. It would be more helpful if there were a piano holding the main chords rather than a jazz guitar (in my mind), but it's a great warm-up, and the bass on the CD is very smooth and well mixed. Five stars for the book's production, four stars for content and teaching value. A very good introduction to walking bass-
